Legacy Pro Rodeo Announces Return of "Road to the Gold" Series for Year Two

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – May 20, 2026

Following a successful inaugural season, Legacy Pro Rodeo is excited to announce the return of its Road to the Gold series for a second year, bringing even more excitement, competition, and opportunity to athletes competing across the Wilderness Circuit. Featuring ten of the circuit’s premier PRCA rodeos, the series once again gives contestants the chance to compete for substantial cash prizes and a brand-new from Tractorland a 3-horse Bloomer Trainer trailer presented by Bar L5.

The first year of Road to the Gold created strong momentum throughout the Wilderness Circuit, rewarding athletes who consistently performed at a high level across multiple rodeos while elevating fan engagement across participating communities. Building on that success, the series returns in 2026 with renewed energy and an even bigger spotlight on the athletes and rodeos that make the Wilderness Circuit one of professional rodeo’s most competitive regions.

The Wilderness Circuit has long served as one of the PRCA’s most respected proving grounds. Stretching across Utah, Idaho, and parts of Nevada, the circuit combines top-tier competition with deeply rooted rodeo traditions and communities that have supported the sport for generations.

The 2026 Road to the Gold series includes:

  • Canyonlands PRCA Rodeo, Moab, UT
  • Pony Express Days PRCA Rodeo, Eagle Mountain, UT
  • San Juan Stampede PRCA Rodeo, Monticello, UT
  • Strawberry Days PRCA Rodeo, Pleasant Grove, UT
  • That Famous Preston Night Rodeo, Preston, ID
  • Cache County Fair and PRCA Rodeo, Logan, UT
  • Golden Spike PRCA Rodeo, Tremonton, UT
  • Iron County Fair and PRCA Rodeo, Parowan, UT
  • St. George Lions Dixie Roundup, St. George, UT
  • Young Living’s Last Chance PRCA Rodeo, Mona, UT

To qualify for the series, competitors must participate in a minimum of seven of the ten participating rodeos. Throughout the season, points will be awarded to top money earners in each event, creating a season-long race toward the standings. At the conclusion of the series, the top five overall point earners across all events will share a minimum $45,000 cash prize pool. The overall champion will take home $10,000 and a brand-new 3-horse trailer courtesy of Bar L5.

“The response to Road to the Gold in its first year exceeded expectations and reinforced what we believed from the beginning — athletes and fans want meaningful season-long competition that rewards consistency and showcases the strength of these rodeos,” said Darren Lindgren, President of Legacy Pro Rodeo. “We’re excited to build on that momentum and continue growing something special for the Wilderness Circuit.”

The owner of Bar L5 and Legacy Pro Rodeo added:

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with Legacy Pro Rodeo and support a series that recognizes dedication and excellence across the rodeo season. Road to the Gold has become an exciting addition to the circuit and an opportunity to celebrate both competitors and the communities that support them.” – Darren Lindgren

Cash and prizes will once again be awarded in conjunction with the Wilderness Circuit Finals at the conclusion of the 2026 series.
